Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American journalist and photojournalist who has covered wars as well as natural disasters for over 45 years. She focuses on the plight of those living in these regions. Curry reported on wars from Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in Agana) is an American anchor, television reporter and journalist. Her most renowned work was for her work as a reporter on The Today Show, a popular morning newscast produced by the National Broadcasting Co. Curry was noted especially for her reporting on emergencies in war-torn regions and on natural disasters. Curry's father was a naval officer in the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. In the aftermath of World War II, her parents met when their father was in Japan. Her father served serving in the military, and her family had to move around often. The family eventually moved to Ashland Oregon where Curry attended high school. Curry graduated in 1978, with A Bachelor's degree in Journalism at the University of Oregon. It is possible that she learned to communicate with empathy because of her experiences with different cultures throughout her life. Curry and her husband moved around frequently and she didn't keep the same high school over two consecutive years. They lived within San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. After graduation, she graduated in Ashland High School. In Medford, she started her broadcast career as a KTVL Channel 10 intern. When she was 22, she was the station's first female news reporter. After that, she moved onto becoming an anchor and reporter at KGW, an NBC affiliate station located in Portland. When she moved to Los Angeles, she became a reporter on KCBS TV 4 years following her arriving in the city. In the course of her work with the channel for seven years that she earned the two Emmy Awards.
